He was the leader of the band
And I was. I also designed my costume (based off the Star Trek: The Movie uniforms so suck it, gay geeks..I win) and picked out the gold lamė which was piped along the edges, the cumberbund, AND lined the whole inside of the detachable, full-length cape. Not too bad for someone who couldn’t play an instrument.

This is the best thing I’ve seen in months.
What was your waist, like 25?
And was that the WHOLE band?

According to my Senior Book from whence this gold nugget came, I was 150lbs so I must have been in a 25/26″ waist.
And yes, that’s the whole of the Bethel High School Marching Bees. I graduated from a small rural school with 88 people. Our band was so small they couldn’t waste the field commander position on someone who could actually play an instrument and since I played the cymbals and any dummy could do that, I got the leader position. I could keep a beat so that helped, too.

I feel a Flashdance coming on just looking at you.

Dude, no lie, my school played your school in football when I was a kid! I think they dropped Bethel about ten years before your band heyday (pictured), or I might have SEEN you back then. And I’m quite sure I’d remember if I had.

LOL ahhhh….memories.
And, I might add, you were the best field commander we ever had, too.

If designing, making, and wearing that uniform so fabulously isn’t a sign yer gay then I dunno WHAT is!

Beau was the best at many things he did over the years, like the best nephew, the best son, the best grandson, the best nurse and he still is. He has an amazing partner and an amazing career. Who wouldn’t love this guy?

Oh good grief…nice words but I can be sort of an insecure prick at times, though.

It looks as if you’re leading them off to war. Fashion war, that is.

Um, yes, you win.
Well, okay, my Wonder Woman costume probably wins something, but you win for making it yourself, looking snazzy, AND pulling it off in public. I only had mine on twice.

Oh dear lord, how did I miss this until now?
Oh, and while I can see the Star Trek influence, your fabulous costume totally looks like something Krystle Carrington would wear–and in fact, looks like something Princess Diana actually did wear.
